Our efforts are directed at students, teachers, businesses, residents and tourists that desire to know more about the communities located in the Great Lakes Bay Region. This is includes local histories on many different subjects and contempory content such as news, events, and articles related to our area.
As of 2008, the annual number of visits to Bay-Journal has been over 400,000 with pages viewed averaging about 650,000.
Bay-journal offers a variety of "economical" sponsorship programs whether you are a small or large business:
"Free ad for your history!"
If your business is at least 50 years old and located in Bay County, provide us with an acceptable one page article on your company's history and you will receive full credit for the article along with a "fixed 468 x 60 ad display" on the bottom of your history page. Examples of business history pages may be seen in the Heritage Library/Businesses section.
(Please note: Our rotating sponsor displays are a part of the standard page header used for paid ads. Talk to us if you have an interest in using them for your business.)
Bay-Journal is a participating partner with the "Friends of Historic Pine Ridge Cemtery," and are offering a special ad program to support their efforts in preserving this abandoned pioneer burial grounds. (See right-hand column for details.)

Personals Pages:
Our Personals Section offers an easy and economical means to have an internet presence or to help increase awareness of your existing website. Customized Personals web pages are like having a full page ad in a newspaper except they can be seen 24/7 to millions of viewers over the internet. We can also create your Personals page based on the content and information you provide. Personals pages even come with a direct link that you can used to promote it, such as www.bjmi.us/to/your Personals page.
Your Personals page can also include your own rotating banner ads and these as well your page can be changed for a small service whenever you want. Having a Personals Page is like having your own Internet Services Department, without paying the high costs or headaches of operating one. Some features of our Personals pages are:
- No one else's ads or information but your's will appear except for a link allowing viewers to return to Bay-Journal's content.
- Your own URL, "www.bjmi.us/to/The Name of Your Personals Page.
- Your own rotating and/or stationary ads.
- Your choice of background music or none at all.
- Your in control! You can easily have your Personals page updated or changed whenever you want.
- Your Personals Page includes a "free" rotating ad in the main section of Bay-Journal.

We encourage all of our sponsors to use a portion of their Personals Page to share something about the history of their business. This adds to the overall history content of Bay-Journal and can be a point of interest for drawing viewers to your web page and to the location of your business.
You can provide us with your HTML coded page and graphics or we can provide this service for a nominal charge.
Rotating Ad Display:
Space is provide for three different rotating ad displays:
- Size 468 X 60 pixels at top of page.
- Size 150 x 100 pixels on side bar of content page.
- Size 200 x 60 pixels at top of page.
The ad displays are "linkable" to another web site such as your business web site or your web page in our Personals Section.
Traffic Information:
Each week we update the Home Page with a chart showing number of pages, number of visitors and number of pages viewed. This data is derived from the hosting service used by Bay-Journal. It includes "all" traffic to the website, including search engines such as Google, MSN and others that gather information from Bay-Journal.
Also on the Home Page are links to Google and MSN that show other websites linking to Bay-Journal, and a link to Alexa's information page regarding Bay-Journal. Alexa specializes as an website information source for serveral million users of the internet.
Bay-Journal's growth to date has been through our viewership by sharing awareness of it with friends and family. Use of normal commercial promotional sources will be pursued when a sufficient sponsor base has been established to support the cost of doing so.
