About Maps

Historical Maps
... are useful learning tools. These visual aids reveal the known geography at a point in history which allows us to learn changes from then to now, such as:
- Places that changed names.
- Communities that no longer exist or didn't exist then.
- Railways that have come and gone.
- Reshaped shorelines of rivers and more.
Maps of the past were essentially done on a "best efforts" basis as there was little in instrumentation to be more precise. It wasn't until the introduction of satellites and imaging technololgy that truly "precision" maps were possible.
Add a Map
... to our libary. Contribute a reference map to this library. We are particularly interested in local/regional maps of cemeteries, villages, towns, plots, etc.
